Evening Workshop
October 28, 6.30-9.00pm
LTE Network Deployment: Technical Considerations & Features
Led by Lloyd Johnson and Craig Ibbotson, Fellows of the Technical Staff in Motorola's Home & Networks Mobility Organization,
Workshop Objectives
Delegates joining the technical workshop will gain a technical understanding on how to deploy a LTE network and how to integrate it with existing legacy networks. In addition, the workshop will include a focused session on the mobility & roaming elements of LTE with legacy networks. Finally, delegates will go through an in-depth session on SON, one of LTE innovative feature that is set to influence network deployments, and will be given an insight on what operators can expect from SON.
Workshop Agenda
Session 1 - Introducing LTE to an Existing Network: Technical Considerations Ahead
- Evolving to a Wireless Broadband Architecture
- Key Points of Consideration
Session 2 : Exploring Mobility Within An LTE Network And Across Technologies
- Inter- technology Mobility - LTE mobility with both 3GPP and 3GPP2 networks
- Roaming Considerations
- Mobility as a tool to accelerate LTE network deployments
Session 3 : Benefits of Self Organizing / Optimizing Networks (SON
- O&M Architecture considerations for Self Organizing/Optimizing Networks
