
Gavin is Editorial Director and Principal Analyst within Informa Telecoms & Media’s Industry Research division, coordinating its regional coverage and output.
In his role, Gavin has built up a wealth of experience covering everything from the development of regional markets and operator strategies, to the evolution of data networks and fixed/mobile convergence. Gavin’s most recent piece of research covered growth opportunities in the Indian mobile market. He has also published research on the 2.6GHz-band auctions in Europe, broadband technology evolution and handset initiatives for emerging markets.
Gavin has 12 years experience in the telecoms sector as a journalist and analyst and previously worked as business editor on the Hongkong Standard and Eastern Express. He is a regular at international conferences throughout the world and also conducts briefing sessions with operators, vendors.
Dr Malik Kamal-Saadi is a Principal Analyst at informa Telecoms & Media.
Within his role, Malik acts as a Thought Leader across different sectors of the global telecommunications industry including Devices, Networks & Infrastructure, and Multimedia Services. He has planned, authored and co-authored many Informa Telecoms & Media series of reports including Future Mobile Handsets, Mobile Applications Platforms & Operating Systems, Mobile Broadband Networks, Mobile Access at Home, Mobile VoIP, Open Source in Mobile, IP Multimedia Systems (IMS), Mobile Converged Devices, Mobile Computing Devices, and Metropolitan Area Networks and Switching Technologies. He has also contributed in planning the content of many of Informa events and workshops and was involved in the Telecoms Academy’s Mini MBA program.
Malik is a frequent speaker at international conferences on mobile telecommunications. He has over 13 years experience in the telecommunications industry as a technology expert and analyst following different technologies from inception to maturity. He has also played a key role in a number of European and Government projects. Malik has a PhD degree from Groupe d'Etude des Semiconducteurs (GES, France), specialising in Semiconductor Devices and Materials, Design and Engineering.
Dan is Principal Analyst for Content and Applications at Informa Telecoms and Media, where he has worked for eight years in a variety of roles. He has authored a number of reports and studies based around the mobile industry, with a specific focus on mobile content and application strategies.
His research experience spans such reports as Mobile Adult Services, Mobile Messaging, and Mobile Entertainment Services amongst others. Through the course of his work he has been called upon to participate in a range of industry events and is often quoted in national and international press. He has previously worked as a fraud and billing systems analyst and conference researcher. He holds a masters degree in Instrumentation and Analytical Science from UMIST University in Manchester, UK
David McQueen is a Principal Analyst at Informa Telecoms & Media with a key focus on mobile device developments and vendor strategies worldwide.
In his role David is responsible for Informa Telecoms and Media's thought leadership in the handsets and devices space, from both a hardware and software perspective, with a slant towards new application convergence. His most recent piece of work covers mobile broadband devices, assessing the needs of the market for new device segments between handsets and notebook computers to satiate the consumers’ need for internet access driven by the availability of high-speed mobile networks. David has also published research on future mobile handsets, mobile broadcast TV, multimedia handsets and devices, and smartphones and mobile application platforms. David has considerable experience in the telecoms research and consulting sector and has gained first hand experience in the handset markets’ needs and requirements. He is a frequent speaker and chair at international conferences and has made many presentations on current trends and future development of mobile handsets and devices. He also provides timely analysis and comment on the devices market, and is often quoted in the global business press. He holds a Masters degree in marketing and honours degree in econometrics and mathematical economics.
