Mark Burk is a Research Analyst with Informa Telecoms & Media. He has contributed to Strategic Report projects such as the Ultra Low Cost Handsets report and has conducted research on topics including the US and European handset market, Mobile TV, multimedia handsets, mobile OSs and fixed mobile convergence. Mark has also produced some of the most successful conferences on these topics for Informa Telecoms & Media. Mark holds an honours degree in Philosophy and Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Gavin Byrne, Analyst

Gavin works as a Research Analyst within Informa Telecoms & Media’s Industry Research team.
As a member of the Handsets & Devices team he examines developments within the mobile handset value chain, including hardware and software components, handset vendor strategy and segmentation, business models, technology and feature forecasts.

Gavin has just completed research into the nascent market of mobile broadband devices* which includes smartphones, MIDs, UMPCs, laptops and attachments. These diverse new device types is being encouraged by the growing availability of high speed network connectivity, via EV-DO, HSUPA and WiMAX, together with the use cases they enable and the business models companies have adopted.

Gavin has over six years’ experience in research, competitive intelligence and benchmarking within the telecoms and IT sectors, he has provided comment to industry leading publications, contributed to a number of analytical newsletters and research.
