Simon Murray, Analyst

Simon is responsible for our entertainment and mobile content and applications portfolios. He has been involved in international media and entertainment business intelligence since 1988, and has been especially active in forecasting industry growth in the take-up of new technologies as well as more traditional areas such as cinema admissions and advertising.

Simon started his career in media business intelligence at Saatchi & Saatchi in 1988 before joining Kagan World Media where he established a reports and forecasting division, which focused to the print and electronic media industries

Adam Thomas, Analyst

Adam is Media Research Manager within Informa Telecoms & Media’s Industry Research division. In this role Adam is responsible for Informa's output in the TV sector. Adam’s team is responsible for much of the content on the TV Intelligence Centre, while his most recent piece of research covers Eastern European Television*. It assesses the current status of the Eastern European TV sector, the threats to traditional TV services from emerging technologies, including an in-depth analysis of the viability of the new services. Adam has published research on the TV sectors in Asia Pacific, Latin America, North America, the Middle East, Africa and across Europe.

Adam has more than 10 years experience in the TV and wider media sector as both an analyst and a journalist. He worked as a reporter at CIA Medianetwork’s Channel 11, authored media research analysis for the Corporate Intelligence Group and was senior media analyst at Market Tracking International. He also wrote for the PSI’s prestigious Cultural Trends journal, before joining Informa Telecoms & Media in 2000. He graduated from Guildhall University in 1994, with a first class honours degree in Communications.

Simon Dyson, Analyst

Simon is Senior Analyst within Informa Telecoms & Media’s media reports and intelligence centre division - widely considered as the global leader for TV research.

In his role Simon is responsible for compiling detailed profiles of the TV industry in more than 20 countries. His most recent piece of research covers Eastern Europe*, which looks at how DTH has started to make inroads into cable’s dominance and considers if the early promise of high definition TV has come to fruition. Simon also covers many of the world’s most successful TV markets in Western Europe and North America as well as several developing markets in the Middle East and Africa.

Simon has a wide knowledge of the TV sector, having authored several management reports on aspects such as IPTV, on-demand and online TV. He has also completed several TV-related consultancy projects. He previously worked as a Senior Analyst with Market Tracking International and holds a degree in Media and Society.

Ted Hall, Analyst

Ted is a Senior Research Analyst on Informa Telecoms & Media’s TV reports team. In his time with the company, Ted has analysed all aspects of the TV industry and has covered countries in all geographical regions. His areas of expertise cover some of the world’s most active and lucrative markets, such as the US, UK and Japan. He is also responsible for researching and analysing all countries in Western Europe’s Nordic region.

Ted graduated from the University of Reading with a first class honours degree in English Literature in 2005. Before moving into research, he took up temporary roles within the law and education industries. Work with a leading international law firm was followed by a brief role with a major UK examination board.

Thomas Miles, Analyst

Thomas is a Media Research Analyst within Informa Telecoms & Media’s Industry Research division, focusing on TV and Entertainment. In his time with the company Thomas has contributed to reports on Digital Terrestrial Television, Cable and Satellite Television and IPTV. His areas of expertise include established European markets, such as Italy and Spain, as well as emerging markets, including Latin America and the Middle East.

Thomas graduated from the University of Nottingham with a degree in History in 2002. After a period working in the financial industry, he spent several years teaching English in Madrid, Spain. He gave classes to professionals at many leading domestic and international companies. During this time Thomas contributed work to Madrid’s foremost English-language magazine. Following his return to England, Thomas began working at Informa Telecoms & Media in 2007.
