Created in 2003 the National Mobile Phone Crime Unit is a UK police unit created to deal with the growing problem of mobile phone crime; from thefts to handling, reprogramming and exportation of stolen handsets. This is achieved by co-ordinating Intelligence, Enforcement and Prevention activities between Government, Industry and Law Enforcement.
