This week's announcement that Scandinavian broadcasters NRK, TV2 and MTG are launching a DMB-based service is a sign that the broadcast industry is seeking to get into the mobile-television driving seat.
It is not difficult to see why DMB might be attractive to broadcasters. As the NMTV project's ambitious launch schedule shows, DMB promises to give broadcasters access to mobile-television audiences far more quickly than would be the case with the sputtering and stalling DVB-H.
